Health

HEALTH is "a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease" according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

Physical is about the body.
Mental is how we think and feel.
Social talks about how we live with other people.
Well-being is the state of being healthy, safe, comfortable, and happy.
The absence of a disease means being free from particular abnormal conditions.

A healthy person is disease-free, but a disease-free person does not mean a healthy person. What does that mean? There is a difference between being healthy and being disease-free. A person is said to be healthy when his physical, mental, emotional, and psychological state is well, and disease-free when he is free of diseases.

Physical and mental health are probably the two most frequently discussed types of health.

Physical health

Physical health is a condition of our body when we take into consideration everything from the absence of disease to our fitness level. It is critical for overall well-being. Physical health is dependent on genetic determinators, as well as, social, economic, and ecological factors. Our genes are just partly responsible for our physical health. There are also other circumstances, such as, the place we live, the level of pollution of the air and water, how good our social and medical system is, our diet and nutrition, do we practice regular exercise, how much do we sleep, etc.

Mental health

Mental health refers to how we think, feel, or behave. It refers to cognitive, behavioral, and emotional well-being. Sometimes this term is used to mean the absence of mental disorder. It is also crucial for one's overall well-being and can include a person's ability to enjoy life.
Many factors can affect mental health, starting from stress, difficulties with socializing, poor family connection, death of some important persons, loneliness, feelings of loss or grief, stress, depression, anxiety. Other factors that can affect mental health are physical factors, such as sleep deprivation, smoking, substance abuse, pollution, exposure to toxins during childhood, extreme weather conditions.
Because mental health is very important, looking after it is very crucial. A person should try to reach a balance between life activities, responsibilities, and efforts to achieve psychological resilience.

The connection between physical health and mental health

Physical and mental health are in great interaction and dependence. Physical and mental wellbeing are linked one to another. Better physical health helps with improving the symptoms of depression, and some other mental conditions, while mental health disorders can lead to worsened physical health. This relationship means that staying physically healthy is extremely important for mental health and care for your mental health is important to stay physically healthy.
